Disney-themed prosthetic hands are now a thing
So Open Bionics, makers of low-priced but highly capable prosthetic robotic hands, have teamed up with Disney to realise a few very cool designs.

These Iron Man, Frozen, and Star Wars models even feature LED lighting to make the designs more authentic, and the Iron Man arm has a vibration motor to simulate firing a blast of energy from the hand. The three models have been created by Open Bionics, a startup working on cheap, 3D-printed hands for amputees.
Bristol-based Open Bionics says it is trying to boost the confidence of children who need to use prosthetic limbs and to get them excited with the bright designs.
The hands interpret electrical signals from the brain and turn it into movement. They’re not just getting medical devices, they’re getting bionic hands inspired by their favorite characters. “What might have been perceived as their greatest weakness is seen as their greatest strength”, explained Mr Gibbard.

The Walt Disney Company is donating the time and artwork of its creative teams and providing royalty free licenses from Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars to Open Bionic for this project.
