DJI Has Brought a Film Making Drone and It Works Incredibly Well

The M600 also works with DJI’s own Zenmuse camera line, which, due to its lightweight, allow the drone to stay in the air for 35 minutes.

Buried deep inside the drone is a new brain that DJI calls the A3 Flight Controller.

For more information on the new DJI M600 priced at $4,599, jump over to the official DJI website for details following the link below.

The M600 uses sine-wave driven, intelligent ESCs to ensure it performs accurately, safely and efficiently while A3’s self-adaptive flight systems adjust flight parameters automatically based on different payloads. For users, DJI’s new Lightbridge 2 is said to be designed from the ground up to meet the requirements of professional broadcasting, offering high frame rates and HD live streaming.

At the NAB Show in Las Vegas, DJI showcased a drone that is the most powerful drone yet. With a Zenmuse X5 in tow, the M600 can fly for an impressive 36 minutes at a time.

DJI’s Ronin series is also getting a newcomer with the $1,599 Ronin-MX, the first unversal aerial gimbal the company has released. “Capable of extended flight times and featuring built-in and add-on redundancies for maximum reliability, the M600 is the ideal aerial system for professional filmmaking”, says DJI. A customized battery management system and power distribution board allows all six batteries to be turned on with one button press, and keeps the system in flight in the event of a failure of a single battery, and allows users to check the battery status in real-time during flight. DJI imagines that the M600 can be used for high-risk work, such as inspecting offshore oil rigs, for example.

The propulsion system of DJI’s latest offering is dustproof, which increases durability of the drone and simplifies its maintenance.

When paired with the new DJI Ronin-MX, the M600 offers best-in-class three-axis aerial video stabilization. The A3 can also be upgraded to an A3 Pro, which adds six Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) units and three inertial measurement units (IMU) for even more accurate flight controls. The MX allows the camera to rotate to 360 degrees, though unlike a similar feature on the Inspire 1, the MX doesn’t lock in place. “There are other options out there, but none that integrate a top-class flight controller, video-transmission system like Lightbridge 2 and support for a wide range of cameras and gimbals”, said DJI Executive Creative Director Sheldon Schwartz.
