Trump’s choice of running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence who is a conservative evangelical Christian, could serve to reassure voters alarmed by his rhetoric. Tim Kaine walked through the doors of the Richmond church he’s been part of for more than 30 years to applause so loud it could be heard from outside. Elizabeth Warren, a favorite of liberals. “Are his political views different than mine?”

“I’m not shocked, but I’m disappointed”, Sanders said of the hacked emails, one of which questioned whether his religious beliefs could be used against him, on ABC’s “This Week”.

“Would I have preferred to see someone like an Elizabeth Warren selected by Secretary Clinton? Yes, I would have”, Sanders told NBC’s “Meet the Press”.

Opportunistically, GOP nominee Donald Trump leaped into the fray to blast Democrats for their perceived treatment of Sanders, calling it “really vicious”. Ted Cruz, refused to endorse the billionaire businessman.

At the Republican convention, Trump cast himself as the law-and-order candidate in a nation suffering under crime and hobbled by immigration, sticking to the gloom-and-doom theme.

The Massachusetts Democrat and progressive hero will deliver the keynote address at the Democratic Party convention Monday night and will try to unite a party badly fractured and undergoing a change in leadership.

Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz also made an appearance at the Miami event.

But, Huckabee also said, that on a personal level, he believes that Kaine is “an honorable guy”.

“The Bernie Sanders supporters are furious with the choice of Tim Kaine, who represents the opposite of what Bernie stands for”.

“Folks, that’s an open invitation to Vladimir Putin to roll on in”, said Kaine, an experienced foreign policy hand who serves on both the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees – and whose son is about to deploy with the U.S. military to Europe.

Kaine, who was announced as Clinton’s running mate this weekend ahead of the Democratic National Convention, said using terms like “Crooked Hillary” was beneath “the kind of dialogue we should have”.

“Donald Trump may think America’s in decline, but he’s wrong”.

Kaine, the Virginia senator and former governor who held his first joint rally with Clinton on Saturday in Miami, credited Clinton with letting “water go off her back on this”. And watch Tuesday’s roll call of the states.

“Trump has made bigotry and hatred the cornerstone of his campaign”.

One of the well-wishers outside the Kaine’s house was Larry Williford, a member of the church who has known Kaine for decades. “So we needed some prayers today, and we got some prayers, and we got some support and it really feels good”. Outside the convention hall, several hundred marched down Philadelphia’s sweltering streets with signs carrying messages such as “Never Hillary”.
