DNC steps off in Philadelphia with huge protests, high temps

In another email, the DNC’s chairwoman, Rep.

“We are the state that will deliver the White House”, Wasserman Schultz said, shouting above the boos. Amid the growing controversy, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced on Sunday afternoon that she would step down from her post at the end of the convention.

In contrast, the Democrats’ approach borrows a page from Bill Clinton’s 1992 NY convention that featured average Americans and a video dubbed “The Man from Hope” that reintroduced an elite Yale Law School graduate as a southern boy who grew up poor.

Wasserman Schultz told the crowd during a raucous scene that “we have to make sure that we move together in a unified way”.

“You think you know somebody, but you really don’t know their biography, you don’t know what makes them who they are”, she said.

“The bottom line is it’s the states that decided, it’s the voters in the states who decided who is going to be the nominee, and I don’t think any of those emails had any impact on the outcome”.

The GOP convention featured Republican nominee Donald Trump’s allies bashing Clinton – and delegates frequently chanting “lock her up!” – even as it was short on revelatory personal anecdotes about the Republican nominee (other than from his children). “A government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice”. As Hillary Clinton hopes to use the convention to rally a uniting party, the email release couldn’t have come at a worst time, as it has only reinvigorated Bernie Sanders loyalists who long complained that the DNC wasn’t impartial.

“Will I be very active in this campaign?”

According to convention organizers, Sanders and first lady Michelle Obama will speak on Monday, former President Bill Clinton will speak on Tuesday and President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will speak on Wednesday.

Outside the convention, thousands of Sanders’ supporters are expected to protest party leadership and call for reforms.

It wasn’t immediately clear how WikiLeaks received copies of the internal Democratic emails.

Hillary Clinton has worked for decades to earn the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, and she intends for it to follow a traditional path this week.

“The wound hasn’t healed yet”, he said. Delegates said they expect he’ll continue his message of asking his supporters to back Clinton in November. The impact is on the level of enthusiasm.

Sanders endorsed Clinton two weeks ago after pressing for the party platform to include a $15-an-hour minimum wage, debt-free college and an expansion of access to health care.

“It confirms what was evident for months – the heavy-handed role of the DNC to predetermine the outcome of the primaries and their one-sided collaboration with the Clinton campaign (and, apparently, a few people in the media)”, emailed Charles Idelson, spokesman for National Nurses United, which supported Sanders’ campaign.

“That’s news to me”, she said, adding “I have not talked to anybody about that, so it’s… not necessarily in my future”. He said the DNC needs to look into the matter, take appropriate action and determine the accuracy of the leaks.

While Clinton is beating Trump by a almost two-to-one margin among those aged 18 to 29, almost one in five are undecided, according to a new Harvard Institute of Politics poll. This year, those superdelegates overwhelmingly backed Clinton.
