‘Doctor Strange’: Benedict Cumberbatch’s D23 Message to Fans

As expected, Marvel Studios came out with some brand new teases and details on their slated projects at Disney’s D23 Expo. “The goal of these films is always to continue to expand what a comic book film is, what a Marvel Cinematic Universe film is”.

Disney’s D23 Expo 2015 is now underway and day 2 of it brought major surprises for fans and representatives of the media, with the biggest being the first official look at “Doctor odd”.

Since Cumberbatch is busy with his play “Hamlet” in London, the actor could not join Feige on stage, so he prepared a video for his fans instead.

In the video, Cumberbatch says he’s, “Very lucky and very excited” to be taking on the character of Doctor unusual.

The movie will feature Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek: Into Darkness) as the Doctor unusual, Chiwitel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer) The Ancient One, Daniel Bruhl (Captain America: Civil War) as Baron Zemo and Juliet Rylance (Sinister). As for the part for Strange’s leading lady, it still remains open, although that might go to “The Notebook” star Rachel McAdams, who is reportedly in talks with the studio for the role.

“It’s not your typical Marvel action movie”, Davis added.

“Images in the concept art reel reveal the classic origin story: a wounded surgeon seeking alternate ways to heal his destroyed hands finds his way to a mystical Eastern sanctuary that leads him to an order that holds the keys to another dimension”, reported Entertainment Weekly. Actors Anthony Mackie and Chris Evans were on hand to debut the first footage from Civil War, which is now filming in Germany, as the Inquisitr previously noted. According to Feige, “Doctor Strange” will be unlike any other movie that has been released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“You’re going to get girls, cars, explosions, and astral projections into multiple universes”, he said.

Doctor Strange” is scheduled to hit theaters November. 4, 2016.
