In the episode, which will be broadcast on December 25 on BBC One, Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord will be joined by Alex Kingston, who makes her return as River Song.
The theatrical event is expected to screen in almost 300 theaters, according to a press release.
Tickets for the 2015 Doctor Who Christmas Special can be purchased online beginning Friday, November 13 by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or participating theater box offices.
Doctor Who airs at The BBC America on Saturdays at 9 pm Eastern Time. The difference between the TV version and the movie version seems to be the bonus content with the actors and creators.
Anticipation is already high among aficionados as this is the episode in which River Song will finally meet her husband’s new incarnation.
This year’s Yuletide episode will see Alex Kingston reprising her role as the enigmatic River, who has not been in the science fiction drama since Peter took over the role of the Doctor from Matt Smith.

The description for the Christmas special reads, “It’s Christmas Day in the future and the TARDIS is parked on a snowy village street, covered in icicles, awaiting its next adventure”.
