Doctor Who: Number Of Episodes To Be Halved Next Year
Not only will we say goodbye to Clara by the end of “Doctor Who” Season 9, but new reports state that Season 10’s episode count will be cut in half.

The denial comes in response to a newspaper story which alleges that next year’s series of the BBC1 sci-fi show will be halved so that lead actor Peter Capaldi can turn director on other projects – including a film based on his time in Glasgow punk band The Dreamboys and two episodes of USA sitcom Veep. Statistically, according to this handy site, the average age for a Doctor is 51.
As previously reported, executive producer Steven Moffat reassured fans that Peter Capaldi “is going nowhere” as the Doctor, despite rumors to the contrary for Season 10.
Moffat also confirmed that the show is sticking around too, despite failing ratings.

The paper goes on to quote Doctor Who insiders who say – as with Matt Smith – the series will be greatly reduced to allow Capaldi the time off and that next year’s run will be supplemented by a Christmas Special.
