Doctor Who to air in April 2017

And with season 10 starting in April, BBC appears to be taking advantage of the new schedule.

This latest news goes along with previous reports that there would only be a Christmas special in 2016, followed by the series returning in 2017.

Peter Capaldi may have just found himself on the wrong side of BBC bosses after confirming that the new series of Doctor Who will be back on TV screen in April.

A video of the interaction was uploaded to Twitter, picked up by Radio Times, Capaldi saying in it: “We’ll be on at Christmas, and then it starts again in April, I think“.

During Doctor Who’s break in filming, the cast took time to take photos with fans.

While this is not an official confirmation of the “Doctor Who” season 10 premiere, it doesn’t seem like Capaldi is toying with the fans either. Season 10 will also feature the debut of the Doctor’s new companion, who is played by Pearl Mackie.

As for Bill, the teaser trailer in which she has been introduced as the new companion may not be canon at all.

There has also been speculation that Matt Smith, who played the Eleventh Doctor, is returning to “Doctor Who” in its upcoming tenth season. Beyond that the slate is fairly clean, but with this being Steven Moffat’s final full season as showrunner we get the sense that he is going to be interested in going all out to deliver the best show he can.
