Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat denies he has made show more misogynist

Previous year a group of USA university students analysed the female characters created by Moffat and compared them with those written by his predecessor, Russell T Davies.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Moffatt said it was a “complicated issue”, adding: “The general point being made by these people is correct”. We need better female role models on screen. Although I highly doubt it, he has a family and a newborn child, but the Doctor seemed to like the little girl, who know what she’ll grow up to become.

We’re sure the answer will finally be revealed in next week’s finale shortly before a lot of explosions happen, but we think the “half-human” idea makes a lot of sense – and it would totally be in head writer Steven Moffat’s nature to dredge up an old piece of continuity just to mess with us all, right?

“Doctor Who’s” current companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), is leaving the show at the end of the current series after three years. Addressing her departure Moffat said he wanted to emphasise the impact her leaving will have on the Doctor.

Peter Capaldi, who is the twelfth Doctor, also recently addressed sexism in the TV industry earlier this month. River Song could return to the series, they are after all married and it was announced that she will reappear in the Christmas special episode of Doctor Who.

The Doctor did say that she should avoid him for as long as she can, he will seek revenge for what she did to Clara and as we all know, the Doctor gets things done.

As Jenna, 29, bowed out from Doctor Who for good last week, the show’s producers are now searching for the next incarnation for the Doctor’s sidekick.

Of course, the reality here still is that the majority of the time that there are these said threats, it never really materializes into much of anything, and people do still manage to watch. “Let’s not pretend it’s not a big problem, but there will be a solution”. The penultimate episode, Heaven Sent, goes out on Saturday night at 8.05pm, putting the Doctor up against The X Factor.

Doctor Who continues on BBC One on Saturdays.

“Maybe this is my dimwittery but I do not understand why Doctor Who of all shows is singled out as misogynist”.
