Doctor: Wilkins lost half her blood in Longmont attack

Michelle Wilkins gave an emotional testimony in front of lawyers about how she went to her attacker Dynel Lane’s house in March previous year after she spotted an advertisement offering free baby clothes.

“You’ll hear that that this was hasty, impulsive, and reckless”, Beck said.

The Post’s front-page headline, “Michelle Wilkins describes Craigslist attack in which fetus was cut from her womb”, generated outrage from Denver conservative talk radio host Dan Caplis on KNUS 710 AM this morning. She was 7 1/2 months pregnant.

Lane replied, ” ‘If you love me, you’ll let me do this, ‘ ” and stabbed her in the neck with a piece of broken glass, Wilkins testified.

Her baby died, she found out the next day.

Ms Wilkins said she told Ms Lane that she “loved her” to make her stop.

Pro-choice advocates said a year ago that a fetal “personhood” bill could not be crafted under present political circumstances “without it becoming a tool for controlling and punishing pregnant women themselves”, as Lynn Paltrow, director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women, put it.

“She pinned down my arms with her legs and she was trying so hard to choke me and put the heel of her hand on my windpipe and remember everything going black”, Wilkins said.

“I just felt the blood seeping through my trousers and I could feel my intestines outside of my body”, she told the hushed courtroom.

“They both appeared to have blood on them”, Deaton said.

Lane’s friends even threw her a baby shower.

“She said, ‘Don’t take care of me, just take care of him, I don’t matter anymore, ‘” Armstrong testified. Prosecutors say Lane cut Wilkins’ stomach and removed her fetus at Lane’s home, then left Wilkins in the basement.

The foetus was discovered in a bathtub by Lane’s partner, according to the AP.

The first day of testimony wrapped up with the prosecution calling Ridley to the stand, who spoke about his concern over Lane’s refusal to attend prenatal doctor visits with him.

Prosecutors say following the attacking the defendant took the baby to the hospital and told doctors it was hers.
