Documents seized from my office not related to CBI probe: Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who launched a vicious tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led NDA government over the CBI’s raid in the office of IAS officer Rajendra Kumar, is now completely exposed. “I am surprised at the raids at my office”, Kejriwal told newspersons in the evening, hours after he broke the news of the raid with a tweet “CBI raids my office”, as the CBI team reached the third floor of Delhi Secretariat.

He also maintained that the AAP very much stood for the CBI’s independence and there was no change in the party’s stand. You have no idea what I’m made of. “I’ll fight till my last breath”. In all, the CBI carried out searches at 14 places connected with Kumar in the capital and various locations in Uttar Pradesh. They should have raided the education department and other places where documents related to charges against Kumar are, not the CM’s office.
She said the CBI had registered a case against a senior civil servant of the Government of NCT Delhi and six others on allegations that during the period 2007-14, he along with others abused his official position in awarding contracts from the Delhi Government to a private firm. AAP leaders also claimed that the money in bank accounts that the CBI had searched was Kumar’s life savings from his 27 years of service.
Bedi also questioned Kejriwal over his choice of the Principal Secretary in form of Rajendar Prasad who was under investigation. The Delhi bureaucrat has Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal backing him even as the Central Bureau of Investigation has levelled corruption charges against him. BJP demanded that Kejriwal must apologise for his remarks against Modi.
The documents pertaining to fixed deposits worth Rs 1.66 crore were recovered from AK Duggal, former MD of Intelligent Communication Systems India Limited (ICSIL), a public sector undertaking whose officials were allegedly part of the conspiracy. Maybe my words were bad. “Your actions are as bad as my language”.
Declaring that he would not “spare his own son if he were corrupt”, Mr Kejriwal said the real reason for the raid was to search his offices for a file linked to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Jaitley had dismissed the allegations against him as “rubbish”. If you go with the reaction of Kejriwal and Jaitley ji, it is amply clear that the more nervous man is Mr. Kejriwal.

Mr Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleges that there were financial irregularities when Mr Jaitley was the president of the DDCA or Delhi and District Cricket Association for 13 years till December, 2013.
