Dodge releases Plum insane Heritage Hue for 2016 Challenger and Charger
The 2016 Plum insane cars will debut at the Woodward Dream Cruise gathering, on display at 13 Mile and Woodward Ave in Royal Oak, Michigan. That palette of 21 colours notably includes Top Banana, Sublime, B5 Blue, Copperhead, Furious Fuchsia and Green with Envy.

When the 2015 Dodge Challenger was introduced with a 1971-esque look and the new Scat Pack trimline, some Mopar faithful were disappointed that Plum insane wasn’t present in the color palate. However, that changes for the 2016 model year, with the deep metallic purple hue being offered on almost every trimline.
The 2016 model year lineup is similar to that of the 2015 Dodge Challenger, comprising of the following flavors: SXT 3.6, SXT Plus 3.6, R/T 5.7, R/T Shaker 5.7, R/T Plus 5.7, R/T Plus Shaker 5.7, R/T Scat Pack 6.4, R/T Scat Pack Shaker 392, SRT Premium 6.4, and the awe-inspiring 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat 6.2. This leaves just the base SXT Challenger without the new high impact color. Production starts in November, and buyers can order a Plum insane starting in October through the end of this year.
Dodge notes that Charger and Challenger models painted in the company’s limited-run colors are actually rather collectible, as only 11 percent of all Dodge Chargers and Challengers built since 2006 have been offered with the special paint schemes.
The unique purple paint will be available on several different packages, including the SRT Hellcat flagships and R/T Scat Pack models.

Plum insane first appeared on Dodge muscle cars in 1970, and according to FCA, it remains one of the most desirable colours for their Challenger and Charger models.
