Dodger starter Norris exits after facing two hitters Sunday
The Los Angeles Dodgers were facing off against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night, when a Ross Stripling wild pitch in the dirt resulted in a scored a run, despite not ever making it past catcher Yasmani Grandal.

Norris, acquired June 30 from the Atlanta Braves after ace Clayton Kershaw suffered a herniated disc, was twice checked by a trainer – first after issuing a leadoff walk to Jean Segura and then after retiring Michael Bourn on a flyout. The ball got lodged in Grandal’s chest protector.
According to Vin Scully on the SportsNet LA broadcast, Norris left the game with “muscle tightness in his back”. Lefty Brett Anderson, out all year with a back injury, is due to make his second rehab start this week, but threw just 36 pitches in his first outing and is probably two weeks away.
Unfortunately, the 3-0 lead wouldn’t stick, as a Jake Lamb error led to three unearned runs off Corbin in the bottom of the fourth. Puig’s hit came on a drive to left-center that was misplayed by Diamondbacks left fielder Yasmany Tomas.
Jake Lamb scored Arizona’s second run in the fourth inning on what was ruled a wild pitch.
The offense faced the Dodgers bullpen virtually the whole afternoon, but could only manage three hits the entire game.
Yasiel Puig had three hits and two RBIs, and Justin Turner added two hits and an RBI as the Dodgers finished with 16 hits and won for the fifth time in seven games.
Grandal, who went 3 for 5 with and scored three times, hit his 15th home run of the season off reliever Dominic Leone in the sixth inning. In three consecutive innings starting in the sixth, Diamondbacks relief pitchers gave up big home runs.

By contrast, after Norris left the game, six relievers combined to finish out the game, holding the Diamondbacks to just three hits (none after the fourth inning).
