Adrian Gonzalez hit three of the Dodgers’ seven homers – driving in a career-high eight runs – and rookie Corey Seager had a noteworthy homer as well on Monday, leading Los Angeles to an 18-9 victory and a split of its four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds. Left-hander Scott Kazmir lasted a season-low 2⅔ innings, giving up six hits and four runs.

Rookie Dylan Bundy (7-4) pitched six innings of three-hit ball for the Orioles, who had lost five of their previous six games – all at home. The Dodgers are the first visiting team to do it. At the time of the change, the Reds were 30-54 with a 5.53 ERA.

The Dodgers made contact on his first four pitches, turning three of them into hits.

First-year Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has been able to guide his club to the top of the National League West despite the injury woes. Andrew Toles started in right field.

So does Adrian Gonzalez. It was the first major league home run for both.

“Who won?” Gonzalez joked.

Once August hit, though, Gonzalez started to turn it around and it wasn’t just Monday. Chase Utley singled on Bailey’s first pitch of the game, and Corey Seager singled on the second pitch.

After one of his home runs, the SportsNet LA cameras caught Gonzalez trotting back to the dugout with a wide smile, saying, “I love this ballpark”.

“That was fun”, Gonzalez said. Left field plays short. The Reds trailed 6-1 when Bailey left the game, but stormed back in the bottom of the third. “It ends up being a pretty good day”.

Reds shortstop Jose Peraza had a career-high four hits including two doubles on Monday, improving to 9-for-15 since being recalled from Triple-A on Saturday. Since being held out of the lineup for two days in late June, Gonzalez is hitting.355 with a 1.013 OPS, nine home runs and 37 RBIs in 46 games.

Andrew Toles and Rob Segedin would go deep back-to-back in the fifth.

BREWERS 4, ROCKIES 2 (at Milwaukee) – Chris Carter homered and Jimmy Nelson won for the first time in seven starts for Milwaukee.

The 28-year-old Anderson missed the first four-plus months of the season due to a back operation that he underwent in Spring Training, and he’s been roughed up for 11 earned runs in just four innings across two appearances since returning earlier this month.

Reds pitchers set season highs with 21 hits allowed, as well as runs allowed. Gonzalez also had a solo shot in the fifth, when the Dodgers connected four times overall.

“Very excited for our offense”, Roberts said.

Kazmir said he’s been bothered lately by a stiff right side of his neck. So he’s flying open, trying to create arm speed and all these things.

“I told him we hadn’t won anything yet and that we had to look at the big picture”, Baker said. “But when you’re putting up numbers like that and leaving that much for the bullpen to do”.

Anderson, though, became the fifth Dodgers player to go on the disabled list twice this season, along with Hyun-Jin Ryu, Brandon McCarthy, Scott Van Slyke and Josh Ravin. “Right now, we’re not thinking about the DL”. But that is a decision.
