Dog day heat to continue into the weekend
During this time, the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like 100 degrees, with the highest heat around mid-to-late afternoon both Friday and Saturday, the NWS said.

There is a risk of heat-related illness for those without air-conditioning or those who are outdoors for an extended period.
That means people can suffer heat disorders with prolonged outdoor exposure or strenuous activity, the National Weather Service warns.
Wear loose-fitting, airy, light colored clothing. Children and pets should not be left unattended. This summer, there have only been six days where temperatures topped 90 degrees – three in early June, two in July and one in early August. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Make sure you have lots of water on hand to prevent from becoming dehydrated as well as an emergency disaster kit in case any power outages take place.
There had previously been a heat advisory for the city, but it was upgraded to an excessive heat warning. Expect hot, humid and muggy weather by mid to late afternoon Saturday when temperatures will soar to potentially unsafe highs.
Check on elderly relatives, neighbors and family members.
A heat index of up to 107 is forecast for Sunday afternoon, but Accuweather said lows are forecast to drop only into the upper 70s and low 80s on the Interstate 95 corridor into Sunday night.
