Dog dies saving baby from fire
An 8-month-old baby is in intensive care after the family dog shielded her from a devastating house fire in Baltimore, a heroic effort that cost the poor pooch his life.

Poremski says she had just stepped out to her vehicle when she turned around and discovered her house in flames with Viviana and Polo still inside.
“I just heard her crying and I couldn’t get to her”, mom Erika Poremski told the TV station.
“I tried to keep getting in”. They were kicking the doors in and kicking the windows out.
Erika sustained burns on her hands and face in her various attempts to break in to the house and rescue Viviana and Polo. What surprised Erika, however, was the revelation by one of the firefighters that Polo was found shielding Viviana from the flames and that the dog was still covering the little baby when they reached her. “I don’t know why this stuff happens” she cried.
Viviana was revived at the scene, but she suffered burns to her face, arm and side.
But the young tot was saved thanks to the quick thinking of her dog, Polo, who laid on top of the infant to shield her from the flames. Poremski said that her infant daughter is still in critical condition.
“She only had burns on her side because of it”, Poremski told WBAL-TV. Even better, she says, is the shorter work commute… just down the hall, and a dress code that’s changed from suits and heels to jeans and a sweatshirt. “She’s fighting and that’s it. I hope she’s okay”. However, at the time, she had no clue where Polo was.
People have set up a GoFundMe page for Poremski and her daughter. They lost everything. Any donations would be appreciated. “Please keep these two lovely souls in your prayers”.
