Dog walks with new prosthetic legs
It’s been a slow run for Daisy to get used to her legs, but she’s now at full speed and loving every minute of it. But time was running out.

Born with dislocated joints in her elbows, right shoulder and back hips, she was abandoned on the streets of Los Angeles when she was just two months old, and was scheduled to be put down before she was rescued.
She was set to be euthanized at a local shelter when A Home 4Ever Rescue pulled her out. “I wanted a special needs dog because I know they have a hard time finding a forever home, but I like to focus on what they can do instead of what they’re unable to do”, Sheena Main said. Wheels helped, for a couple of years, but then prosthetic legs came into Daisy’s life, in the summer of 2015, a game-changer.

Daisy’s vet informed Sheena and Christian that the wheelchair was putting pressure on Daisy’s spine, which would hurt her in the long run. “I am so excited for what the future hold for Daisy with her new legs!” The Mains hope to continue to raise awareness for special needs dogs.
