Donald Trump has said he would name his vice presidential pick on Friday, capping a months- long frenzied speculation over his potential running mates.

Trump met Wednesday with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Newt Gingrich. Trump told The Washington Post earlier in the week that he plans to announce his choice by Friday, but aides said news of his selection could emerge earlier.
Mr Trump had originally planned to fly back from IN with Mr Pence following a rally on Tuesday night, but his plane was grounded by mechanical issues, so his children flew to join them IN IN, a person familiar with his movements said.
Pence, Christie and Gingrich were said to be the final contenders for vice presidential candidate on the Republican ticket less than a week before the GOP meets in Cleveland for the formal nomination.

At Tuesday’s rally, Pence slammed Clinton, saying that “to paraphrase the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I think it would be “extremely careless” to elect Hillary Clinton as president”.
