The song tells the story of a woman who tries to steal away another woman’s man and was inspired by the time a bank teller flirted with Parton’s husband when they were newly married. The network said at the TV Critics Association Press Tour that the second film will be based on the song “Jolene”.

China Beach creator and The West Wing writer-producer John Sacret Young has been tapped to write the screenplay for “Jolene”.

This once-in-a-lifetime movie special takes place inside the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith, and a raggedy patchwork coat that helped make Parton who she is today. The song became a No. 1 single on the country charts. It is expected to air around the holidays.

“Coat of Many Colors” stars eight-year-old Aylvia Lind as a young Parton in the film based on her autobiographical track. “And she’s always been interested in telling stories from her childhood, and we just weren’t quite sure how we would get to that point unless we started at a point that would touch families…” “It’s an attitude.
