For Seattle to make it back to the big game their defense is going to have to step up big and it begins with their d-line. They can’t allow Russell Wilson and this Seattle offense to continue to start drives with good field position.

Miami had just 145 yards total offense until that drive. But again, we said the exact same thing past year when we faced the Rams on the road, so let’s hope Seattle is able to get off to a 1-0 start this time around.

Wilson set at a career high in pass attempts on the night (43) but could only manage one touchdown as Miami’s defence combined for three sacks and an interception on the Pro-Bowler.

After the game, Wilson led a post-game prayer with other players, including some of his Dolphins opponents.

“Without question, he’s great at it. We weren’t sure what he could do”, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. Russell Wilson had a fantastic second half past year while leading the Seahawks through the air, and I’d like to see him build on that passing prowess from a season ago.

After head coach Adam Gase drew up a number of handsome offensive plays with about 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, including a wonderful screen pass to Damien Williams, and a draw play by Tannehill to get the Dolphins’ only touchdown of the game, who could fault me and all other Dolphins fans for having that sense of deja vu that the Seahawks were going to march down the field for a game sealing touchdown?

He looked like the Russell Wilson we’re used to on the final drive, leading his team down the field for the go-ahead score. “Let’s be the group that’s finding solutions on the sidelines and I felt like that’s what that group was doing”.

And so, the Dolphins were left with Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and a bunch of rotation players as Wilson won the day.

ON THE LINE: Overanalyzing the offensive line in Seattle has become a yearly tradition. Then it was thrown into flux this week when rookie guard Germain Ifedi went down with an ankle injury. No one seemed offended Sunday.

The challenge doesn’t get any easier next week taking on the Rams. Past year was a disappointment for Miami’s defensive unit and that will need to change. LINE: Seahawks -10.5. O/U: 44ABOUT THE DOLPHINS (2015: 6-10, fourth in AFC East): Mario Williams is looking forward to pinning his ears back and rushing the quarterback, as the mammoth defensive end had 38 sacks in his first three seasons with Buffalo before a regime and scheme change limited him to just five in 2015. “And that’s exactly where I am, and there is not going to be an issue”.

The Dolphins operated with Ajayi as their starter in the preseason, but he struggled late while Arian Foster made significant gains to overtake him.
