Dolphins release OT Jason Fox
Campbell proved he belongs as a coach somewhere in the National Football League based on his ability to connect with players and create a positive atmosphere in the locker room, and he will settle for an assistant gig before he rises in the ranks. His ascension paid immediate dividends, as Miami won its first two games after Campbell’s promotion, but it didn’t last long, as the Dolphins went 3-7 down the stretch. Campbell was still under contract with the team but was granted his release.

Dan Campbell won’t be back with the Miami Dolphins next season, according to a report by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
A year ago Gase followed coach John Fox from Denver to Chicago after interviewing for head jobs with the Bears, 49ers, Bills and Falcons.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said Saturday at Gase’s introduction that he wanted to keep Campbell in the organization, but Campbell apparently had other ideas. “But I think, the way we feel about Dan, as an organization, is fantastic”.
However, Miami quickly rebounded as it experienced a philosophical shift during a two-week span that saw the Dolphins drub the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans.

Before becoming a tight ends coach, Campbell spent ten years as a tight end with the Giants, Cowboys and Lions. Campbell did get an interview for the job, but it seemed that the Dolphins had zeroed in on Gase as their top candidate.
