Dominick Cruz easily defends title vs. Urijah Faber at UFC 199

Bisping (29-7), who was submitted by Rockhold in the first round of their first fight in 2014, knocked down Rockhold with a counter left hand. He came up big after Rockhold overcommitted with a right hand. And that’s why I’m taking this fight.

“This was my dream”.

“I’ve always been a fighter, there’s nothing that I do better”, Bisping said afterward. “So two days, two weeks, two months, I really don’t care”.

Nothing impacts the mixed martial arts betting market quicker than the reveal of injury information.

In the past, UFC President Dana White has said he and the organization would welcome a gay fighter. Prior to that loss, Rockhold had finished five consecutive fights, the longest active streak of any UFC division.

Bisping, an Englishman fighting out of Orange County, had never fought for a title in a decade with the UFC. Not only does he already have a crushing win over Bisping, but he was coming off a winning streak that included defeating former middleweight champion Chris Weidman and former light-heavy weight champion Lyoto Machida.

“Apart from my wife and my children, this is the greatest day of my life”.

Bisping immediately said “Shit, I shouldn’t have said that” before turning to the media and saying “delete that comment”.

Rockhold and Bisping clearly weren’t satisfied with their short time in the cage, and continued their affray in front of the media with a heated exchange of expletives.

Turns out it wasn’t just talk from Bisping, who couldn’t contain his emotions when the title belt was wrapped around his waist.

“I will have my belt back”. “I’ve always been a fighter and it always got me in trouble, but there’s nothing I do better in this life than fighting”.

It’ll be interesting to see who Bisping’s first title defense comes against, but first, he gets to celebrate. “I just have to reach out and touch it. It’s right there”. “He has a victory over me, and I have one over him now”. Should Faber win he would finally hold the UFC belt after multiple failed attempts at the belt, if Cruz wins it will be a personally satisfying victory and another notch on his strap. Cruz actually is 2-1, having dropped his first bout and won his rematch against Faber.
