Don King drops the N-word while introducing Trump at black church

Bloomberg reports that King called Trump “an American to save the nation” at a campaign event at New Spirit Revival Center, a largely Black church in Cleveland.

King, who is black, said the word as he argued that African-Americans can not achieve success by emulating white people, as they will remain “negroes”. Trump’s outreach has also been viewed cynically as an attempt by his campaign to soothe concern among more moderate, suburban voters.

Famous boxing promoter Don King dropped the N-word on Wednesday while introducing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at a black church in Cleveland, Ohio.

At the end of the speech, King picked up and waved several flags, including Israeli and American ones and a banner with Trump’s face.

But those comments were overshadowed by King’s joking reference to the n-word. Don King, Ben Carson and Mike Pence were all in attendance.

“If you’re poor, you’re a poor negro”.

“If you are intelligent, intellectual, you are an intellectual Negro”.

King did just that moments later, saying “if you are a dancing and sliding and gliding n–“.

The town hall, scheduled to air Wednesday night, was delayed by Fox News because of the ongoing live coverage of protests in Charlotte, North Carolina after police there killed Keith Scott, an African American man whom they claimed was armed. But he is joined Trump at another stop in Toldeo and was expected to join him at an appearance in Dayton, too. “That man went to the auto, hands up, put his hand on the vehicle”, Trump said. I want to make America prosperous for everyone, ‘ he said.

“We must love each other and support each other and we’re all in this together”, he said.

At the end of an OH church event organized by members of his diversity coalition, Trump was asked about recent high-profile police shootings in Oklahoma and North Carolina.

Trump added, “Maybe I’m a little clouded because I saw his family talking about him after the fact so you get a little bit you know different image maybe”. And they’re great people.

“These things are bad”.

Appearing in Orlando, Fla., Clinton notably made no direct mention of Trump in a speech that focused on helping people with disabilities thrive in the US economy.

“There’s still a lot we don’t know yet about what happened in both incidents, ” she said. She pointed to the Oklahoma and North Carolina shootings at the start of her remarks, saying it added two more names “to a long list of African Americans killed by police officers. It’s unbearable. And it needs to become intolerable”.

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has made curbing gun violence and police brutality a central part of her candidacy. Many police departments are committed to making reforms for the safety of communities and of officers, Clinton said. “We are safer when communities respect the police and police respect the communities”.
