Don’t be fooled by this iPhone 6SE packaging
Carved’s post doesn’t put the nail in the coffin, but case makers are known to be granted inside access to Apple’s blueprints in order to develop products in time for the iPhone’s reveal and pre-order announcement. The images were shared via social media and have fooled some into believing that Apple (AAPL) will call its 2016 iPhone the iPhone 6 SE.

There are a few signs that point to this being fake.
Apple is expected to unveil its brand new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones exactly two weeks from today, on September 7th.
Everyone knows what to expect and in spite of all the claims we’ve seen on gadget blogs that Apple’s new iPhones will be “boring”, we all know that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are shaping up to be far more exciting than some might think.
Aside from that, naming it the 6 SE makes little to no sense.

Dutch website Techtastic has obtained and published some photos showing the new color in the flesh, along with what looks to be an early look at the iPhone 7 Pro. Some rumors have claimed this would be added to the device, but they’ve never been as strong as many other leaked features. This isn’t confirmation that the iPhone 7 Plus won’t have a Smart Connector, but it does add to the list of rumors that claim it won’t. It’s highly possible that Apple chooses this name, because quite frankly there aren’t a lot of differences separating the iPhone 6SE and iPhone 6s, at least from the aesthetic side of things.
