‘Don’t be fools’: Trump assaults Carson’s biography in Iowa

Outside of the woman card, she’s got nothing going. That story of redemption has underpinned much of Carson’s support in the Hawkeye State. At one point, Trump acted out the scene of Carson trying to stab his friend, lurching forward dramatically. “The belt moves this way. It moves this way, it moves that way”, Trump told the crowd, which laughed in response. Anybody have a knife?

Carson has written and spoken of what he calls his “very volatile” teenage years, claiming he “would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers” – including his own mother. Believe me, it ain’t gonna work. Thursday he arrived in Iowa for a tour of a factory, television interviews and the rally at the community college.

Trump was flabbergast: “How stupid are the people of Iowa? How silly are the people of this country to consider this crap?”

Trump focused on a story from Carson’s books where he writes about stabbing someone with a knife.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says political rival Ben Carson has a “pathological temper” that can’t be cured any more than a child molester can be cured. “Somebody said he has pathological disease”, Trump told CNN’s Erin Burnett of the retired neurosurgeon, who is running neck-and-neck atop the GOP presidential polls with the mogul.

“I could say they don’t say, as an example, a child molester, you don’t cure these people. They can’t stop you”, he told a crowd estimated at around 1,500 people. “If you’re a child molester, there’s no cure. There’s no cure for it. Pathological, there’s no cure for that”, said Trump.

“When I was doing the program, we liked to make jokes about him because he’s hilarious and easily mockable”, Stewart said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “You know, when he says he went after his mother and wanted to hit her in the head with a hammer, that bothers me. This dope spent $435 million last cycle, didn’t win one race and I saw a few of the ads, I thought they were so bad, I thought they were made by the Democrats”. Fiorina’s team emailed out this response Thursday night saying, “Donald, sorry, I’ve got to interrupt again”. Somebody said he has pathological disease. He referred to “pathological anger” again in telling about lunging at his friend, a knife blade breaking off when it hit the boy’s belt buckle.

Asked if he was satisfied that Carson’s violent history was really in his past, Trump didn’t seem so sure. I just don’t know. During the latest debate, he largely refrained from attacking those on stage with him, instead focusing on the policy questions asked. “What he’s saying is ‘these things happen'”.
