Don’t count out Paxton Lynch from winning the Broncos starting job
Kubiak said Siemian took a shot to his shoulder trying to make a tackle on the play.

While that doesn’t yet mean that Siemian will be the team’s starter when the Broncos open the season September 8 against the Carolina Panthers, he will get the last best look with the starters before coach Gary Kubiak makes the call.
After managing a hard quarterback transition with Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler last season, Kubiak’s first as the Broncos’ head coach, he leads arguably a more trying, if unprecedented, charge with the team this season.
On Saturday, Sieman started the game in which he completed 10 of 14 passes for 75 yards against one interception. There is an easiness to the way Siemian handles himself at the position that makes fans want to trust him.
Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor was 7 of 10 for 132 yards with a handsome scoring strike to a diving LeSean McCoy.
Siemian has thrown for 163 yards, completing 17-of-26 throws, tossing 0 touchdowns and one interception, good enough for a passer rating of 66.7.
Paxton Lynch, the Broncos’ first-round draft pick, was the most productive among the three though he has primarily gotten third-team reps in training camp. His final pass was intercepted in the last moments by cornerback Kenneth Acker.
“I feel like I squandered an opportunity to separate myself”, Sanchez told reporters Saturday, via NFL.com. No excuse for that.
The Long Beach native and former star quarterback at the University of Southern California played Justin Bieber, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson, and took other requests in the stunt for DraftKings. And, again, Sanchez blew his opportunity, fumbling for the second time in about 30 seconds. “We evaluate them just like we evaluate every other player”. We got the ball in the end zone.
Gerald Hodges: Starting ahead of Michael Wilhoite and Ray-Ray Armstrong, Hodges looked out of position on C.J. Anderson’s 19-yard touchdown run on the opening series. “There are definitely things that we can correct on film, but for the most part the offense as a whole played pretty well, we just have to protect the football”.
Kaepernick went through his pregame passing routine in anticipation of participating fully in practices next week ahead of Friday’s exhibition against Green Bay.
– Los Angeles Rams receiver Bradley Marquez (right leg) and Kansas City Chiefs fullback Trey Millard (left knee) were both carted to the locker room during Saturday’s 21-20 Rams win at the Los Angeles Coliseum. WR Devon Cajuste, an undrafted free agent from Stanford, caught a 40-yard pass from Driskel in the third quarter.
He’s going to go back and give him a chance to do it again, like any coach would with any young quarterback. The Broncos did secure a possible quarterback of the future by drafting Paxton Lynch this year, but Denver’s situation under center still does not inspire much confidence for 2016.

It should be noted the 49ers defense was without veteran defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, second-year defensive end Arik Armstead and first-round pick DeForest Buckner. DT Tony Jerod-Eddie was sidelined in the first half with a chest injury.
