Donald and Megyn: An anatomy of a feud

“If I don’t go all the way, and if I don’t win, I will consider it to be a total and complete waste of time, energy, and money”, he told Kelly.

The feud, or whatever you might call Trump’s fixation with Kelly, continued like that for months.

It’s the TV moment we’ve all been waiting for: Megyn Kelly confronting Donald Trump for all those months and months of his nasty, vicious attacks against her.

In order for Kelly and Trump to get to the point of a sit down interview, Kelly requested to meet with Trump in April, as she confirmed on an April 13 episode of “The Kelly File.” I don’t really blame you because you’re doing your thing.

The feud made a stranger turn when Kelly’s network, Fox, issued a statement criticizing Trump’s “sick obsession” with their host in March, following Trump’sTwitter attackson Kelly.

In fact, she said many Trump supporters would say she bullied him because they didn’t like her questions during that first debate.

Kelly refused to apologize for the line of questioning, arguing it was “tough but fair”. This interview, she said, was a long form, thoughtful exchange that allowed her to show the audience who this human being is.

“When I went into Trump Tower that day, I was a little anxious”, Kelly admitted to ET.

“I’ve been saying this whole campaign that I’m a counter-puncher”, said the presumptive GOP nominee. This marked the first television feature for Kelly though FOX, she also spoke with Michael Douglas, Laverne Cox and former O.J. Simpson defense lawyer Robert Shapiro.

“I have regrets, I could have done things differently, I could have used language [differently]”, said Trump.

Speaking with Kelly, Trump suggested the August debate actually helped prepare him for the battle ahead.

Teasing Tuesday’s interview, Kelly said she chose to focus on Trump’s “temperament”, especially when it came to women, including “yours truly”.

Megyn Kelly will sit down with some of most interesting people in the world tonight on Fox.

She asked Trump about the insults he has hurled at Sen.

“Ooh, OK, excuse me”, he said.

In the interview with Kelly, Trump briefly discussed his personal life, and how his older brother Fred died after a battle with alcoholism.
