Donald comes up Trumps in Nevada as he wins another major vote
Solidifying his status as the GOP presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump easily won the Nevada caucus Tuesday (Feb. 23) night, seizing three straight victories in early-voting states.

“We’re winning, winning, winning the country”, Donald Trump declared after a thumping win in Nevada’s GOP caucuses Tuesday night-and many observers seem inclined to agree. Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida hope to throw up roadblocks in the NY real estate tycoon’s path to the Republican presidential nomination.
Trump was also supported by about 6 in 10 of those who said they care most about immigration, and almost half of those who said they care most about the economy.
“The other candidates amount to 55%”, Trump said.
The University of Texas and the Texas Tribune on Tuesday reported Cruz leads Trump by 8 points in Texas, 37 to 29, respectively, with Fla. Sen.
As he often does, Cruz, in making the case that he would be the best candidate, noted his pro-Israel record.
Cruz attempted to appeal to the state’s fierce libertarian wing, appealing directly to those who supported Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed protest against the federal government in 2014 and a similar, more recent, one staged by Bundy’s sons at a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon.
Hughes later said he is confident now after checking across the state that the Republican National Committee is chasing down the problems that have occurred – largely due to confusion, complex procedures and a higher than expected turnout. “They keep forgetting that when people drop out, we’re going to get a lot of votes”.
John Kasich will soldier on – he was already in MA yesterday, campaigning for the primary there on 1 March while voters were still queuing up in SC. That’s slightly more than said they want a candidate who can win in November or who can bring change, each chosen by about a quarter of caucus attendees.
“I grab and grab and I get greedy”.
All eyes were on whether Rubio and Cruz would be able to slow Trump’s momentum and which of the two candidates would come in second. The late caucus times and the often chaotic nature of the Nevada Republican caucuses meant that results were not finalized until early Wednesday.
Mr Trump’s brash assault on the political establishment in an insurgent campaign struck a chord with Republicans in Nevada as he motivated the angriest electorate for the party in a nominating contest to support him.

Prior to his win, Trump had 67 delegates, and there are 30 delegates at stake in Nevada that will be divided up proportionally to the candidates.
