Donald or Ivanka Trump for president?
Donald Trump’s speech on the final night of the Republican National Convention – the week’s grand finale – went on for more than hour, standing out as the longest convention speech since at least 1972.

Trump took a pause on attacking Cruz but later returned to hit him for promoting a “risque picture” of his wife, Melania, being used in an anti-Trump ad broadcasted in Utah. “I’m not going to come like a puppy dog and say thank you very much for maligning my wife and maligning my father”, he said. “The problem is, no one likes him, he is so unlikeable”.
Cruz shot back, “This is not politics!”
“I will not malign, I will not insult, this is not a game”.
“We don’t want them in our country”, he said. If Cruz believes these things, how on earth could anyone rationally expect him to endorse Trump?
Donald Trump insists he is great at making deals, but some of his employees might not agree. Trump is expected to accept the Republican nomination on the national stage Thursday night in the grand finale of a somewhat disastrous GOP convention that saw his wife Melania Trump plagiarize first lady Michelle Obama in a widely watched speech days before U.S. Sen. “The clarity with which he talked about trade and immigration, and the sense that he alone had the power to disrupt the special interests and give government back to Americans, made clear to me that he was the leader we needed”. “But we will also be a country of law and order”, he said.
It made sense: Ivanka opened by saying that, “like many of my fellow millennials, I do not consider myself categorically Republican or Democrat”.
At times, her speech was drowned out by the cheering crowds in the arena of the Republican National Convention. You know, it was a very bruising primary.
Republicans were still fuming on Thursday morning about Cruz’s remarkable diss, as GOP stalwarts rushed to morning airwaves to bash the Texas senator. But Gingrich’s prepared remarks simply assumed Cruz was going to make an endorsement he hadn’t promised to make, and Gingrich had to wing his response – one that none of the other people in Trumpworld echoed. “This will all change when I take office”, he will continue. The fact that the Trump campaign would offer a prime time spot to a former competitor without first exacting a promise to endorse is just one of many signs that the Trump campaign itself is not ready for prime time. “In a certain way, although he’s got good intellect but he doesn’t know how to use it”.
“Last night was a political calculation by Senator Cruz and how to help himself in 2020”, Barbour told MSNBC.
“I have seen him fight for his family, I have seen him fight for his employees, I have seen him fight for his company, and I am seeing him fight for our country”.
Despite the speech’s length, the audience at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland was sacked up almost the whole time, breaking into chants like “U-S-A”, “build that wall”, and, near the end, “Yes, you will”, after Trump promised he was going to do everything he’s promised.

“When you have my father in your corner, you will never again have to worry about being let down”, Ivanka Trump told the American people in her speech. “I thought it was classless”.
