Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling filed for divorce from his wife of almost 60 years on Wednesday as he continues to battle her over ownership of the team.

Shelly Sterling arrives with her attorney Pierce O’Donnell to Los Angeles Superior Court for the non-jury trial over whether Shelly Sterling has the authority to sell the Los Angeles Clippers over the objections of her husband, Donald Sterling, on July 8, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. The other billion is frozen until Donald Sterling signs off on the sale and drops his litigation against the National Basketball Association. The documents accuse Shelly Sterling of withholding her husband’s portion of the sale.
The couple was about two weeks away from its 60th anniversary. They’d be tied for 35th place on the list, just above Ares Management’s Antony Ressler.
Donald is apparently alleging that he has not received his share of the money from the sale and he “hereby demands an accounting and distribution”.
This of course comes after ALL the drama over the past year and a half or so with Sterling’s comments, the whole V.
Donald and Shelly Sterling spent the bulk of last summer in courtrooms arguing over the family trust.
“I don’t know why I should be punished for what his actions were”, she added.
At the height of this controversy last year, Shelly granted a TV interview with Barbara Walters and said that she had plans of divorcing her husband.
Earlier this summer, Shelly Sterling also won a judgment against Stiviano when a judge ordered Stiviano to repay $2.6 million in gifts the former Clipper owner had given her. Unable to conduct team business due to the ban, Shelly Sterling then negotiated a deal to sell the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.

For those who recall, over a yr in the past Shelly had Donald examined by two docs, who felt that he was mentally incapacitated.
