Donald Trump, ‘A National Disgrace ‘ – Colin Powell
Former National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, who served with Powell in Republican George W. Bush’s administration, agreed, writing to Powell that: “I don’t think Hillary’s ‘everyone did it, ‘ is flying.”Powell was harsher in an August 21 message to a friend and former aide, writing: “Well, their email ploy this week didn’t work and she once again looks shifty if not a liar”.

In addition to saying that Trump is a “national disgrace” and “an worldwide pariah”, Powell said the Republican nominee “is in the process of destroying himself, no need for Dems (Democrats) to attack him”.
In the emails, reported by BuzzFeed News, Powell also accuses Trump, the Republican nominee for president, of having embraced what Powell called a “racist” movement when he questioned the validity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.
When Trump hired the former Fox News chairman – who was recently ousted amid a bevy of sexual harassment allegations – to be an adviser on his campaign, Powell said it wouldn’t help him much, especially among women.
Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell (R) speaks with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during an unveiling ceremony for his official State Department portrait in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the State Department December 7, 2009. And Clinton’s decision to cite his use of private email as secretary of state to justify her private email server has clearly proven a sore spot – both in these emails and in previous Powell comments. “She didn’t need any advice from me; she was already doing it. No further comment at this time”. The Intercept, an online news publication, produced four different email chains in which Powell slams Clinton on everything from her use of a private email server, to her husband and her age. “She keeps tripping into these “character” minefields”, Powell said.
“Paul Ryan is calibrating his position again”, Mr Powell reportedly said, referring to the Republican Speaker of the House.
“I have told Hilleary’s [sic] minions repeatedly that they are making a mistake trying to drag me in, yet they still try”, Powell wrote. “I saw email more like a telephone than a cable machine”, he also wrote.
Mr Powell confirmed to NBC News on Wednesday that the leaked emails had indeed been written by him and suggested that because his email security had clearly been compromised there was reason to believe more of his conversations would surface. He wrote that he “told her staff three times not to try that gambit”. “As long as the stuff is unclassified”.
“Yup, the whole birther movement was racist”, Powell wrote [to Emily Miller, a journalist who previously served as Powell’s aide].

“Trump is a national disgrace and an worldwide pariah”, Powell wrote in June. “That’s what the 99% believe”. He also said Trump wanted to know if Obama was a Muslim.
