Donald Trump Addresses “Birther” Issue
After years of fueling conspiracy theories, Republican White House nominee Donald Trump admitted Friday that President Barack Obama is an American as he tries to neutralise damaging charges of racism.

Sep 17, 2016- Donald Trump, the main supporter of false claims about Barack Obama’s birthplace, has finally said he accepts that the president was born in the USA, “period”. There is no evidence that is true.
Trump claimed that the issue was first started by his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in 2008 presidential election when she was running for the primary presidential. Reporters anticipated asking him about how and when he came to the conclusion that Obama was in fact born in the United States, despite five years of being the most vocal spokesperson for the conspiracy.
“Rusty, you know, I really don’t even want to get into it anymore”, Corsi said, “and Donald Trump, he didn’t need my help to say what he wants to say, so let Donald on his own”.
It was a short speech Friday morning at his new hotel in Washington, D.C. “That’s the way it worked out”, Trump said in a phone interview with Fox Business Network early Friday. “I have to – we have to keep the suspense going, okay?”
She said Trump is feeding into the “worst impulses, the bigotry and bias” of some people. He used the issue to build his political profile and define his status as an “outsider” willing to challenge conventions.
Reporters – who had believed he would answer questions – stood on chairs and shouted at Trump to answer why he believes that now – and didn’t as recently as two years ago. “I just don’t want to answer it yet”, Trump told the newspaper. “His campaign was founded on this outrageous lie”, Clinton said Friday.
The bogus claim seeded the base for his current campaign with those who never could accept that a black man became president.
Obama was born in Hawaii, and the president quieted the ruckus by getting that state to find and release his original long-form birth certificate, rather than an electronic copy.
Obama issued his Hawaii birth certificate in 2011, partly in response to Trump’s jibes, but the issue has not died during Trump’s bid for the presidency. “Donald Trump is a disgusting fraud”.
It’s in that shadowy and fetid netherworld, given voice by Breitbart News (whose former executive, Steve Bannon, Trump now employs) that frankly racist speculation about Obama’s parentage, citizenship and religious beliefs rose and flourished.
President and Mrs. Obama each largely shrugged off Trump’s acknowledgement of widely accepted fact today. In August 2012, for example, Trump was pushing the issue on Twitter. If, say, their presidential nominee believes something, they may be more likely to support that view.
He replied: “I’m shocked that a question like that has come up at a time when we have so many other things to do”. It’s fairly typical. I was pretty confident about where I was born. I think it may be one of the great hotels anywhere in the world. “Donald Trump owes him and the American people an apology”, she said.

It was, nearly unbelievably, the first time that Mr Trump has formally disavowed the basic premise of the “birtherism” movement that he led earlier in this decade that held that Mr Obama had failed to demonstrate that he had actually been born in Hawaii.
