Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly bury hatchet

Trump and Kelly feuded after Trump thought a debate question that Kelly asked him during the GOP primary debate in Cleveland, Ohio last summer was “unfair” where she asked him about calling women names on Twitter. It?s a message he delivers to Megyn Kelly, the Fox News anchor who sat down with him for an interview months after he savaged her on Twitter and elsewhere. This interview, she said, was a long form, thoughtful exchange that allowed her to show the audience who this human being is. “I think she’s highly overrated”.

And making people look bad or uncomfortable doesn’t seem to be the goal of a special like this for Kelly.

“I didn’t think it was a question. I had never debated before – I mean, my whole life is a debate, but I have never actually debated before”. “And I try and “Unwound” myself”.

The Donald Trump-Megyn Kelly truce held on Tuesday night, when the candidate appeared on the Fox special Megyn Kelly Presents and managed to avoid insulting the host.

“In a certain way, what you did might have been a favor, because I felt so good about having gotten through…”

“Ooooh. OK”, said Trump, who insisted that he didn’t want his followers bombarding Kelly with ugly social media posts. “Over your life, Megyn, you’ve been called a lot worse, is that right, wouldn’t you say?”

Trump then interrupted saying, “only Rosie O’Donnell”, which received loud cheers from the crowd, despite Kelly saying “for the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell”.

“During the day, if I’m in the office, I have a number of people that I’ll just call out a tweet to”, Trump said.

“Well, you said ‘a mistake, ‘” Kelly said.

KELLY: “Was that real or was that strategy?” John McCain, Carly Fiorina, and Sen. He also turned, at times, somewhat introspective, saying “he could have done without” his retweet of a post that mocked the appearance of Heidi Cruz, the wife of former rival Ted Cruz.

She said that it wasn’t about her, and then asked him whether he would stop such retweeting activity if he is elected president.

He did say that he “absolutely” had some regrets over some of what he said – but he did not elaborate.

Megyn Kelly’s husband said it has been a hard year watching his wife handle the feud with Donald Trump, but it appears to have made their relationship even stronger. “I’m responding”, he says. “But you gotta get over it. Fight back, do whatever you have to do”. Kelly has not been shy about the objective of the special: With Barbara Walters retired, she has said that she hopes to fill the vacuum of the prime-time host conducting the must-watch interview.

She appeared on Monday's episode to promote her hotly anticipated interview with Donald Trump airing on Tuesday night
