The Republican party must reject Donald Trump’s views on immigration as those of a “demagogue” and a “wrecking ball”, a competing candidate for the GOP presidential nomination said on Sunday, or it will face losing “the moral authority to govern”.

At FreedomFest, Trump plans to talk about immigration and jobs, according to his billing. “U-S-A!” as the demonstrators were led out. “He’s speaking for my son”, he said. “Because I’m telling you“.

“Make America great again”, he said.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best”, he said.

Earlier in the week, Trump doubled down on his anti-immigrant vitriol, cited another case of an undocumented immigrant involved in a killing in San Francisco.

Trump’s attacks on Latino immigrants have won him widespread media coverage – he was mentioned on one national cable news network more than 240 times in a 24-hour-period, Hoffenblum said.

Trump’s descriptions of Mexican immigrants bringing drugs and crime to the USA and being rapists have been roundly denounced as offensive.

His latest remarks prompted a brief scuffle between supporters and protesters in the crowd. “We have incompetent politicians, not only the president”. Trump asked. “Did you got to college?” Trump disputed some characterizations of the call and said it was “congratulatory” in tone. “We are going to keep having our voices heard. We are going to work so hard”.

The move would recall the challenges of fellow billionaire Ross Perot, who split the Republican vote and helped Bill Clinton win in 1992, and Ralph Nader, who was accused of acting as spoiler in 2000 when George W. Bush narrowly defeated Al Gore. “I must be doing something right”. “I love the spirit of the Mexican people”. “…They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems (to) us. He was light on them”, Shaw, Sr., said. A man in a straw Mexican hat danced up and down Sunset Boulevard, dunking a Trump pinata into a trash can to the crowd’s delight.

On Friday, he met with families of individuals who had been killed by undocumented immigrants in an attempt to back up his point. Your mother, your wife, your father, anybody….

“We got to take care of everybody”, he said.

“We had a couple of things in common”. I could’ve made it much higher – but I’m nice. “He investigated it. And I have”. In a new Rasmussen survey released Thursday, a majority of Americans think illegal immigration is leading to an increase in serious crime in America.

But even as companies like Macy’s, NBC and ESPN have turned their backs on Trump, the ex- reality TV star has remained defiant, even doubling down on his original remarks.

The two are the only GOP presidential contenders to enjoy double-digit support among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Trump claimed that he had “great relationships” with Mexican people, including his employees. Bowe Bergdahl, who subsequently was charged with desertion and whom Trump dubbed “a no-good traitor”.

In an interview on CNN Wednesday, ex- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Trump was being a realist.

“We have to repeal and replace ObamaCare”, he said.

He ripped Bush as weak on immigration and education policy.
