Donald Trump Asks People To Pledge Support Before Entering VT Rally

“I knew I was going to have some of that in Vermont, in all fairness”, the GOP front-runner said.

“And on military bases, my first day it gets signed, OK?”

As Obama discussed his executive actions aimed at expanding background checks during a CNN-hosted town hall in Fairfax, Virginia, Trump berated the existence of “gun-free zones” and touted the benefits of law-abiding citizens carrying a gun.

It was hazy, on the other hand, whether Trump implied that no more firearm free zones was consigned just to class and army installations, or in general. “That’s bait”, he said.

The protests began a few minutes into Trump’s speech. His call for saying “merry Christmas” over “happy holidays” drew some of the loudest cheers of the night, second only, perhaps, to his defense of guns.

Trump went from amusement to impatience as the interruptions continued, suggesting security needed to step it up in removing the interlopers – and teach them a bone-chilling lesson.

It was often hard to understand what the protesters were shouting, as they were quickly drowned out by Trump’s supporters.

The chance to run against Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders would be a “dream come true”, Trump said.

About 50 anti-Trump protesters marched down Church Street on Thursday afternoon, chanting: “Racists, fascists, anti-gay, Donald Trump stay away”. “Tell him we’ll send it to him in a couple weeks”. “I would love, love, love to run against Donald Trump”.

By 7 p.m., the scheduled start time of the rally, the Flynn Theater, which seats over 1,400 people was almost half full.

Clad in work boots, jeans, flannel shirt and a well-worn green John Deere cap as he waited for Trump to speak, Billado bemoaned Vermont’s liberal tilt: “They’re taxing us right out of this state. I’m taking care of my people, not people who don’t want to vote for me or are undecided”, the Trump campaign said in a statement Thursday night as the billionaire real-estate developer prepared to take the stage.

Trump, of course, was referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, among his opponents in the 2016 presidential race. He struggled with police, telling them he was a Trump supporter as he was escorted out of the Flynn.

Later, two women stood, pointed at Trump and repeatedly shouted, “Get Trump out!”

Trump also spoke at length about Sanders, criticizing the way he responded to Black Lives Matter protesters at an event in August and accusing him of wanting to raise taxes to 90 percent.

Others left the theater holding their Trump support signs high above their heads.
