Trump would use his business background, VanderSloot argued, to help the economy return to more free-market principles, despite his protectionist rhetoric.
Trump said he didn’t “want the credit” for his fundraising, “but I shouldn’t be lambasted” – that despite Trump repeatedly touting the donations himself on the campaign trail since the January fundraiser, which was televised in what some at the time dubbed a PR stunt.
While backing Clinton would be too extreme for many of his fellow Republican donors, Foster noted that he knows of very few Bush or Ted Cruz supporters prepared to back Trump, whom he described as “a narcissistic, demeaning bully”.
As Trump steamrolled through the GOP primary, some of his rivals raised Trump University as a liability for the businessman and at least five different outside groups mentioned the business in attack ads. “They were people that were hurting, and they specifically targeted them”.
“The Trump University con says a lot about Trump”, Clinton wrote. But Clinton did relish in the new details that were released in the ongoing litigation. Democrats have vowed to avoid repeating those same mistakes in the fall campaign.
“The press should be ashamed of themselves”, a defensive Trump railed during a Tuesday news conference at Trump Tower, called to announce a list of 41 charities that received a cut of the money he raised during a highly publicized January fundraiser.
“The motivation that they experienced can die quickly as the realities of their daily lives take over”. “Trump University employed instructors with no experience and lied to sell outrageously expensive packages”.
The lawsuits allege that Trump University swindled students and did not fulfill promises.
During one-on-one conversations, “you may begin with some small-talk to establish rapport but do not let them take control of the conversation”, a playbook reads.
“Donald Trump could be the best thing that ever happens to this country”.
The documents unsealed Tuesday do include testimony from several satisfied customers. “Instead of being, like, ‘Thank you very much, Mr. Trump, ‘ or ‘Trump did a good job, ‘ You say, ‘Well, who got it?”
The 6-year-old case in San Diego is scheduled to go to trial shortly after the November presidential election.
U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel late Tuesday ordered some released documents to be resealed and resubmitted with sections blacked-out.
Police are preparing for counter-demonstrations of the sort that led to arrests during Trump campaign rallies last week in Anaheim, Fresno and San Diego.
“If we could, I wanted to keep it private because I don’t think it’s anybody’s business if I wanna send money to the vets”, he added, before going on to call ABC News journalist Tom Llamas a “sleaze” for asking follow-up questions about Trump’s honesty.
