Donald Trump: ‘Blood coming out of her wherever’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump launched an online fundraising campaign Saturday as he continues making headlines over a public feud with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

Kelly asked Trump a number of pointed questions during the first GOP primary debate Thursday night, including one inquiry that accused him of using sexist insults like “fat pigs” towards women.

Whether or not you agree with the assessment of the Taiwanese Animators that Donald Trump won Thursday’s Republican presidential debate in Cleveland, I think we can all agree that their video is quite amusing in a vaudvillian sort of way.

He pointed out that Erick Erickson had had to retract or apologize for some over-the-top statements of his own in the past.

“Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad – she was a mess with her anger and totally caught off guard”, the statement read. He tweeted: “Re Megyn Kelly quote: “you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” (NOSE). We’ll now be doing another campaign stop at another location”.

In a follow-up statement Saturday morning, Trump’s camp intensified the personal attack against Erickson, slammed Kelly again and contended that the candidate’s precise words on CNN were “blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever”.

At RedState, Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, said “What Donald Trump said is wrong”.

WERTHEIMER: I can’t even repeat what you said about him. “Only a deviant would think anything else”. But I don’t recognize those words, so you know, she was spewing out these words, and I’m sitting there…. In an attempted clarification, Mr. Trump’s team tells me he meant “whatever”, not “whenever”.

The RedState Gathering event this weekend in Atlanta is expected to bring several of the GOP presidential hopefuls. “It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him”, he continued.

Trump needs “to understand that he is seeking the presidency of the United States now and that words do matter”, RNC spokesman Sean Spicer told NBC’s “Today” show on Saturday. Mr Trump tried to wave off the question and dismissed Ms Kelly during a raucous debate performance.

The off-handed comment unleashed a new storm of criticism against Trump as he seeks the party’s nomination for next year’s election and leads in the polls.

Connie Thomas of Atlanta, executive of a health care consultancy, said Mr Trump went “too far” in the CNN interview but is serving a “good purpose” in the race: “He’s forcing the rest of this field to speak more forcefully, more clearly against the establishment”.

Trump didn’t deny it. And when Kelly was undeterred by his attempt to laugh off her question with a joke about comedian Rosie O’Donnell, he fired back.

In some of the emails, according to Erickson, the writers used a racial epithet to refer to President Barack Obama and made other inflammatory comments.
