Secret Service agents rushed to protect US Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on stage during a disturbance at a rally yesterday, a day after rowdy protests shut down his event in Chicago.

Trump taunted the protesters as they were shown the door, saying, “Hey look it’s a Bernie person”, referring to US Senator Bernie Sanders, one of his Democratic rivals. I don’t want to ruin people’s lives.

“I certainly do not condone that at all”, Trump said, adding, “We have some protesters who are bad dudes”.

For Sunday, protesters were prepping for a Trump stop in Bloomington, a central IL city of about 80,000, and local officials said they would be deploying extra police.

On Friday night, clashes broke out between protesters and Trump supporters and forced the real estate mogul to postpone his campaign event in Chicago.

All of the Republican candidates are condemning Trump – who could be unstoppable after OH and Florida vote Tuesday – saying his rhetoric set the stage for what happened in Chicago.

“We’re going to take our country back from these people”. The candidate, sometimes egging on supporters, urging them to take on the protesters.

Even before Friday’s unrest – which included physical altercations between Trump supporters and protesters, as well as confrontations on the streets outside the arena where the rally was to be held – protests and racial tensions have been escalating at Trump rallies.

“To see Americans slugging themselves at a political rally deeply disturbed me”, Kasich said while campaigning in Cincinnati.

Sanders responded with a statement denouncing Trump as a “pathological liar” and said his campaign did not organize the protest at the canceled Chicago rally.

McGraw “got carried away”, Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, but “frankly wants to see America made great again”.

Trump also blamed Bernie Sanders’ supporters for trouble at his rallies. “My people are nice”, Trump said Saturday.

Since Feb. 29, there have been at least a half a dozen instances of violent or potentially violent altercations at Trump campaign events.

Trump supporter Bill Vail said he walked through a gauntlet of protesters who cursed at him as he pushed through holding his 9-year-old daughter’s hand.

In St. Louis, Missouri, Clinton also criticised Trump for his “ugly, divisive rhetoric” that encourages aggression and violence.

News channels said there were hundreds of protesters in not a few thousands of them who had gathered in large numbers against what they allege as the politics of hatred.
