Donald Trump Calls President Barack Obama the ‘Founder of ISIS’

Mr Trump railed at both Obama and Clinton for refusing to put a name to radical Islamic terrorism.

Trump said the the media were “disgusting” and “dishonest” for its coverage of his comments about Clinton and the Second Amendment. “And, I would say the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton“, the Guardian quoted Trump, as saying. “I’m a Republican, I’m mad at the party”, he said. He further suggested in his speech that Clinton was Obama’s ISIS co-creator.

While Isis has made rapid gains in Iraq and Syria over the course of Obama’s presidency, the United States government has pushed back on the group significantly.

The Republican presidential nominee describing Obama as the founder of ISIS, though presumably meant metaphorically, fits a pattern of conspiratorial insinuations and racial dog-whistles that he has long used to malign Obama. “My temperament is going to win for us folks”, Trump said.

Trump’s comments Thursday in a CNBC interview go against the traditional Republican aversion to government borrowing.

Trump’s accusation – and his use of the president’s middle name, Hussein – echoed previous instances where he’s questioned Obama’s loyalties. “I know what you meant”. He believes Obama essentially birthed ISIS by pulling troops out of Iraq. He’s the founder of ISIS, OK? In response, Clinton said she did not know that the father was in the crowd and that he had not been invited.

Whipping his supporters into a fervour, Mr Trump pointed out the fact that the father of the gunman who killed 49 people in the Orlando nightclub shootings in June was spotted at a Clinton campaign event on Monday.

Trump lobbed the allegation halfway through his rally at a sports arena, where riled-up supporters shouted obscenities about Clinton and shouted “lock her up”. “He gets the most valuable player award”. The Daily Mail reports that Mrs Trump posed naked for the now defunct French magazine back in 1996 when she was 25-years-old. And I give it to him, and I give it to, I gave the co-founder to Hillary.

Yet sitting behind Mr Trump was Mark Foley, a former Republican congressman who resigned after being confronted with sexually explicit messages he sent to underage congressional pages. “And if at the end of 90 days, I fall in short because I’m somewhat politically (incorrect), even though I’m supposed to be the smart one and even though I’m supposed to have a lot of good ideas, it’s okay”.
