“He sends his regrets and looks forward to being with the great people of South Carolina on Wednesday in Columbia”.

In a release sent shortly after noon Trump’s office said he would not be able to make it to the event.
Donald Trump unexpectedly announced Friday that he would skip a major Republican gathering to be held later in the day in South Carolina due to an unidentified “significant business transaction”.
One man in the crowd told Trump, “We have a problem in this country – it’s called Muslims …”
Or does the last-minute decision to cancel his appearance at the neoconservative Heritage Action presidential forum mark the latest front in his ongoing battle with S.C. governor Nikki Haley? You know he’s not even an American. “That’s unfortunate that Mr. Trump is unable to attend”, Heritage Action Communications Director Dan Holler said in an email. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our candidates to South Carolina and offer them the chance to talk face to face with our voters”. A lot of people are saying that.
“We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things”.
Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the Democratic National Committee all hit Trump hard.
The Heritage organization – which used Trump’s name and likeness to sell the vast majority of its tickets to the event – reportedly ran afoul of “The Donald” when it agreed to permit Haley to not only appear at the event, but pose questions of the candidates (including Trump). “Cut it out. -H”.
Fellow GOP presidential candidate and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal used the opportunity to take a shot at Trump over social media.

“These offensive views are …” The DNC said “Trump’s racism knows no bounds”. Trump is “not the first Republican to hold these views.” the press secretary also said. “Their religious liberty is at stake”.
