Donald Trump Closes Gap With Hillary Clinton in New Poll
The CNN/ORC poll follows a Rasmussen poll conducted the last week of August that shows Trump ahead by one point among likely voters, which is also within the margin of error.

And another survey, this one by The Washington Post looking at all 50 states, shows Clinton with a solid lead in terms of electoral college votes, and even strength in some traditional Republican strongholds. The two most likely states that Clinton could pick up are Arizona and Georgia.
Neither candidate scores the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency in the poll, but Clinton is within reach at 244 electoral votes based on the states considered solid or leaning Democratic in the poll.
What political reporters often forget is that not every voter is a partisan fanatic riveted by campaign memes and themes while breathlessly cherry-picking the latest polls for good news.
David Brody: “As a President Trump, if a bill came to your desk that would defund Planned Parenthood you would support that, you would sign that?”
“I expect to do all three”, he said.
While Labor Day has traditionally been the kickoff to the fall campaign, both Clinton and Trump have been locked in an intense back-and-forth throughout the summer.
But the Republican flagbearer’s unorthodox White House bid, including his campaign’s apparent imperviousness to criticism about his harsh rhetoric, assures a tight contest for the next 64 days. “So, let me just tell you about choking”. Top surrogate Rudy Giuliani, a former mayor of New York City, said people should “go online” and look up “Hillary Clinton illness” to find stories about her health. We have long known about her ingrained passion for secrecy, her disdain for press conferences, and the conflict-of-interest problems that flow from her being married to a globetrotting former president.
But Trump on Tuesday, surrounded by military veterans, repeated his view that Russian Federation could be a useful ally in the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), rather than an antagonistic force the nation is now viewed as by both sides of Washington’s foreign policy establishment.
Yet, most voters say they still expect Clinton to prevail November 8 and 59 percent think she will be the one to garner 270 electoral votes – while 34 percent think Trump has the better chance at winning. An IBD/TIPP poll, meanwhile, shows Trump and Clinton tied.
Trump appeared to muddle his policies on immigration before unequivocally reaffirming that he would force Mexico to build a wall on its border with the US. Clinton said her priorities are exactly as they should be.
Another factor is that Trump has given her material to work with, Clinton aides said.
But for those who stay behind, Trump said their cases would be considered at some undefined point.
The motivation for the speech was presumably not a tilt to the center after dispatching Bernie Sanders in the primaries or a belief that more GOP foreign policy endorsements would deliver swing states like Ohio.

Muir pressed on, asking if Trump was trying to make some kind of argument about “aesthetics”, prompting the Republican to respond, “I’m talking about general”.
