Donald Trump Criticizes Flint Pastor Faith Green Timmons After Interruption

“She was so nervous, she was shaking and then I said, ‘Wow, this is sort of unusual, ‘” Trump said in a telephone interview on the Fox News show. “What we pray is that it conveys a fine example of a faithful, intelligent, historically African-American congregation at work, serving and volunteering among the people of Flint as we work through this crises of national impact”, said Timmons.

Timmons, in a statement provided at the event, noted her church welcomes “all people”.

Trump had arrived in Flint for a few hours Wednesday afternoon to visit a closed water treatment center and to speak briefly on the ongoing crisis that has poisoned the city’s water with lead.

As [Trump] continued on to talk about the economy and China, he turned to attacking his opponent, Hillary Clinton. Clinton says she was “touched” by the concern about her well-being.

At the church, Trump was introduced by longtime Ben Carson adviser Armstrong Williams and initially won applause.

You have to credit Trump with bearding the lion in its den by making the effort to reach out to black voters.

His visit to Flint came less than two weeks after he attended a church service at a predominantly African-American church in Detroit, where about 200 protesters gathered outside.

“Tom Brady’s a friend of mine we play golf together, the great quarterback, he’s a phenomenal guy, great athlete, and I’m with him and I feel the same age as him”, Trump declared. As Trump strolled up to a line of a reporters inside the plant, an aide stepped in to confer with him.

Another heckler accused Trump of having called black people “lazy”. “It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. Now Hillary Clinton”, said Trump.

The Orange Menace was appearing in Flint, Michigan, a city that has been brought to its knees by crippling unemployment over the past decade or so.

“I think if I had one thing, I’d like to lose weight”.

As Trump’s motorcade rolled through town between the water plant and the church, stopping traffic, onlookers snapped photos and waved.
