Donald Trump Dances Around His Latest Campaign Controversy

Donald Trump’s Second Amendment comments aimed at Democratic rival Hillary Clinton didn’t cost him any endorsements in SC, but there was more concern the GOP nominee should exercise control.

At a rally in North Carolina on Tuesday, Trump said that if Clinton were elected and appointed left-wing judges to the U.S. Supreme Court, there was nothing people could do.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks”, Mr Trump said, as the crowd began to boo.

Multiple outlets reported on Wednesday the Secret Service had “more than one conversation” with Trump or his staff about the statement.

The Secret Service should interview Donald Trump and ask him to explain his threatening comments.

Hillary Clinton addressed Donald Trump’s comments about her on Wednesday, saying the words coming from presidents or presidential candidates have consequences. It includes a website where she lists dozens of high-profile Republicans and Independents who have endorsed her. “I don’t like her”, said Smith, a 74-year-old retiree who lives in Clearwater, Florida.

“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the second amendment”, he told a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina. Al Baldasaro, a New Hampshire representative, has been a staunch Trump supporter and critic of Clinton.

“I have to tell you I feel that same sense of responsibility”, she said.

There’s no question that Donald Trump is provocative.

“He’s not directly saying it, but we all know the Second Amendment is the right to bear arms”.

“Sometimes I think he has good intentions, but his mouth gets overloaded”, said McDaniel, a relocation director for a real estate company in Louisiana.

The Clinton campaign immediately seized on Trump’s remarks, criticizing the bellicose New Yorker for instigating violence. I am humbled and moved by the Republicans willing to stand up and say Donald Trump doesn’t represent their values.

The overarching social media reaction was that Trump was quipping about assassinating Clinton, but his campaign still insists that he was only trying to rally people to vote.

A great way to avoid having to explain, defend or clean up reckless and careless remarks is for Trump not to say them in the first time.

“I got an email that I called (State Law Enforcement Division) about this morning, where a man threatens my life and threatens President Obama’s life”, Rutherford said.
