Donald Trump demands GOP embrace him as Democrats unleash new attacks
But Mitt Romney, a Mormon and the Republicans’ 2012 presidential nominee, is telling his fellow Utah voters in a recorded phone message that Cruz “is the only Republican candidate who can defeat Donald Trump”. “And I think, if you don’t know the difference between your friends and enemies, if you think the state of Israel, that is defending itself against terrorism is somehow morally equivalent to terrorists who are murdering Americans, murdering Israelis, who are strapping dynamite to their chest”. “At this point”, Romney said on the call, “a vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump”. Ted Cruz of Texas, got a boost one day ahead of primaries in Utah and Arizona.

The billionaire businessman was using a rare day in Washington to try and woo a Republican establishment that’s been reluctant – and in some cases hell bent – on stopping his rise to the party’s nomination.
Herbert said he agrees with Romney’s logic, even though he’s been “partial” to governors and has “great reverence and respect” for presidential Republican candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Trump supporters ask me why I’m so down on their guy.
There are 149 delegates up for grabs tonight in Arizona, Utah and Idaho, and with Clinton leading Sanders by 219 pledged delegates, he needs to win, and by significant margins, to have a shot at catching her.

As Donald Trump has moved closer to the GOP nomination, two of Ted Cruz’s loudest Republican critics have softened their tone on his candidacy.
“I think we have a road – a narrow road – but a road to victory”, Sanders said.
The chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party said the two do not speak for the party, however, and the party will support whoever is nominated as the Republican candidate for president. Cruz’s Utah state chairman, Phill Wright, said after Romney’s backing early Friday morning that Cruz had no plans to campaign with Romney in the state.

So the logic here is simple: Vote for Cruz because he’s the only guy who can actually steal delegates from Trump and prevent him from winning before the Republican National Convention.
