He said on Tuesday at a rally in North Carolina: “By the way if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks”. In the speech, Trump alleged that Clinton intends to “abolish” the Second Amendment to the U.S. constitution, which guarantees the right to bear arms. “This is a political movement. a strong and powerful movement, the Second Amendment”.
“That he would make yesterday’s comment amid sinking poll numbers and a wave of Republican defections suggests that when bathed in the adulation of a crowd, Trump is unable to control himself”, it said.
Clinton’s campaign decried Trump’s “dangerous” language and demanded in a statement that presidential hopefuls “not suggest violence in any way”.
Mr Trump then noted the power Mrs Clinton would have to nominate justices to the US’s top court.
In fact, Clinton’s campaign website says she “knows that gun ownership is part of the fabric of many law-abiding communities”. The cover is one of many the NY paper has used to call out Trump throughout his controversial campaign.
Trump later told Fox News host Sean Hannity he was alluding to political action, not violent action, saying: “This is a political movement”.
But some supporters at his rally, including one seated behind Trump on camera, seemed to react with surprise to his remark, suggesting they realized it could be taken another way.
Hillary Clinton’s Twitter account sent out a message from former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was badly injured in a shooting at a constituent outreach event she held in Tucson, Ariz., in 2011 that killed six people. “@SecretService must investigate #TrumpThreat”, he wrote.
“That was more than a speed bump”.
Over pictures of a woman who resembles Clinton boarding a private jet, a narrator says, “She’s one of the wealthiest women in politics. That is a topic that we don’t ever come close to, even when we think we are trying to be lighthearted”, Hayden added. She has said she wants to protect the right to bear arms.

ABC News reached out to the Secret Service for response to Trump’s comment, and the agency said it was aware of the remarks. “That was a threat of violence”. Keep reading for the NRA’s provocative tweets of support.
