Donald Trump encourages people to shoot Hillary Clinton using Second Amendment

Donald Trump, a stubby-handed narcissist who appears to be losing a contest quite badly, just suggested that “2nd Amendment people” might be able to “do” something to prevent Hillary Clinton from picking Supreme Court justices, should Clinton be elected as president.

“Hillary Clinton wants to abolish – essentially abolish the Second Amendment”, the celebrity businessman and former Atlantic City casino mogul told the crowd.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks”, he said. “But the Second Amendment people have tremendous power because they are so united”, he told WNCN-North Carolina in an interview.

Trump’s comments were interpreted by many as a threat of violence against his Democratic rival with Clinton campaign decrying the remark as “dangerous”.

Trump has garnered disdain from a large swath of America’s political, defense and security establishment for his unorthodox – some say downright risky – views, such as his professed admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his apparent readiness to scuttle America’s central role in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance.

Other Democrats piled on, with one Democratic senator equating Trump’s remarks with “assassination threat” against Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton supports common sense measures like comprehensive background checks that will help decrease the number of gun deaths our nation suffers every day”, the statement said.

“If Trump were not a major-party presidential nominee, his comment yesterday might have earned him a stern visit from the Secret Service. I mean, give me a break”, Trump told Fox News. “What he meant by” his comment, Giuliani said, was that “you have the power to vote against” Clinton.

Clinton’s supporters are hoping the latest Trump trip-up will lead yet more of his fellow Republicans to defect.

The controversy immediately overwhelmed Trump’s intended campaign-trail focus: the economic plan he unveiled just a day earlier and was promoting during a series of rallies in the most competitive general election states.

But Trump denied having any thoughts of violence when he spoke.

The U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear firearms. And what he meant by that was you have the power to vote against her.

Trump’s campaign also slammed the “dishonest media” for the characterization of his comments. Yes, Donald Trump said something remarkably bad AGAIN.
