Donald Trump endorses McCain after insulting senator

The endorsements are key to keeping Congress in the hands of Republicans to achieve policy goals, Trump said in a rally Friday evening in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ryan’s home state.

Ryan brushed off Trump’s non-endorsement, adding: “The only endorsements I want are those of my own employers here in the First Congressional District, and that’s really what my focus is”.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump endorsed House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen.

The move comes just days ahead of Ryan’s Tuesday primary matchup with challenger Paul Nehlen, who has played up Trump’s refusal to back the speaker – as well as Ryan’s tepid support for Trump. “And very importantly, toward real change”, Trump said on Saturday. “Very important. We need the unity”.

During an interview with The Washington Post earlier this week, Trump said that he was “just not quite there yet” on endorsing Ryan. “I’m not quite there yet”, Trump said at the time.

Last year Trump cast derision at McCain as well, calling the Vietnam veteran and 2008 nominee “not a war hero” because he was captured.

“He’s going to support Paul Ryan”, Manafort said. “Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire”, he continued.

Many Republicans, including Mr Ryan, Mr McCain and Ms Ayotte, were critical of Mr Trump’s insistent attacks on the parents.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s lead over Republican rival Donald Trump narrowed to less than 3 percentage points, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Friday, down from almost eight points on Monday.

“All my life I’ve been told, ‘You have the greatest temperament, ‘” he said. I also fully support and endorse Sen.

The problem with the idea of Trump endorsing McCain and Ayotte is that polling is beginning to show that Trump is hurting incumbent Republican senators.

In contrast to Trump, Pence created a split in the ticket by endorsing Ryan this week.

“It doesn’t make me feel good when people say those things, and I recognise that I have work to do”, Mrs Clinton said.

In addition, Mr Trump plans to release his framework for boosting the United States economy in a speech in Detroit on Monday, an event that will offer him a chance to avoid theatrics and detail how he would handle economic issues if elected.
