House Speaker Paul Ryan says Donald Trump could cross a line that would prevent the speaker from backing him, but “Where that line is, I don’t know”.
Toomey, who is in a tough re-election race, is one of a handful of Republican senators who have not endorsed Trump. The rally is being held on a Friday night opposite the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
For his part, Ryan only endorsed Trump after he officially became the Republican nominee and even then has been openly critical of some of Trump’s rhetoric and policy proposals.
Trump also told the Post that he has “always had a hard time” with McCain because he felt he had not done enough for veterans and criticized Ayotte for not wanting to associate with him despite how well he did in New Hampshire.
The primary election for Ayotte, 48, who is in her first term, is in September.
“I am delighted to thank you for the important work you do every day and now more than ever we need you to keep holding leaders and candidates accountable”, Clinton said.
“I understand that many of my supporters are disappointed by the final results of the nominating process, but being despondent and inactive is not going to improve anything”.
Paul Ryan, like other top Wisconsin Republicans, did not attend Mr Trump’s evening appearance in their state.
Gov. Scott Walker instead chose to attend a spaghetti dinner fund- raiser for the volunteer fire department in tiny Grand View – an unincorporated town of fewer than 500 residents in northwest Wisconsin.
Vos went on to call Nehlen a “bigot”. The tension between Ryan and Trump caused deep frustration among party leaders and lawmakers. Almost half in June said they would not vote for Clinton under any circumstances.
Moments later he said if the entire election came down to his vote, he would vote for Hillary Clinton.
The Republican nominee, speaking in Des Moines, Iowa, accused Clinton of being “unbalanced” and “unstable”, called her a “dangerous” and “pathological” liar and warned voters in this swing state that a Clinton presidency would lead to “the destruction of this country from within”.
While Clinton may appreciate the work of the media, one reporter told her the media would appreciate it if she helped them do their work.
The charges came soon after Clinton addressed her own political vulnerabilities while facing a group of minority journalists in Washington.
Clinton conceded that she had “short-circuited” earlier in the week in interviews when she had asserted that FBI Director James Comey had concluded that she had been truthful in her statements about use of the private server. “I take it seriously”, she said.
Clinton also acknowledged many people don’t trust her. “But I will do this because I feel I have to in order to defend Republicans and our principles so that people don’t make the mistake of thinking we think like that”.
