Donald Trump extends lead among Republicans with 42% support
As if there weren’t enough to argue about this election season, Republicans may be poised to squabble over one of their own convention bylaws – and Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s presidential aspirations may be at stake.

But it said Manafort “will oversee, manage, and be responsible for all activities that pertain to Mr. Trump’s delegate process and the Cleveland Convention”.
The number of Donald Trump volunteers distributing candidate slates was much, much smaller.
Donald Trump won Florida’s 99 delegates, and those delegates are bound to vote for him through three ballots at the Republican National Convention. “They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people”, he said in June 2015.
The time and exact location of the Syracuse rally have not been determined, said Carl Paladino, the Buffalo real estate developer who serves as honorary co-chair of Trump’s NY campaign. An Emerson College Polling Society survey found Trump had a 34-point lead over Ted Cruz in NY.
Trump has 746 delegates of the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright.
Hillary Clinton has also lost some of her advantage in NY recently. Every four years we elect Democratic National Committee members, and select delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
A Cruz aide charged that Trump and Kasich’s supporters conferred and agreed to collectively vote for each other’s chosen candidates.
The Taylorville Republican told the Herald & Review editorial board Thursday that he would support whichever of the three remaining candidates – Ted Cruz, John Kasich or Donald Trump – ends up running against the Democratic nominee. But the former secretary of state still leads the race with 1,749 delegates to Sanders’ 1,061. A top aide to Trump, who canceled an appearance in Colorado, has predicted a likely Cruz sweep.
“Coloradans, naturally having that pioneer spirit, gravitate toward someone like Cruz”, said State Rep. Justin Everett, one of Cruz’s pledged delegates.
“We’re taking the Ronald Reagan strategy – trust but verify”, says Scott Hagerstrom, Trump’s MI director.
Because the GOP race has been so close, many people think this could go to a second vote.

That is the key to Kasich’s hopes as he approaches a Pennsylvania primary in which recent polls have shown him variously in a statistical dead heat with Trump or as a distant third.
