US Senator Ted Cruz has launched a staunch defence of his decision not to endorse Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, causing a damaging rift ahead of the November 8 election.

He also suggested that if Cruz were to seek the White House, he would set up a super PAC to oppose him. “If you love our country and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution”.
Former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders’ twitter account questioned Trump’s assertion that he would tackle the country’s problems “alone”, rather than together with Congress. “I think he’s a lovely guy, a lovely guy. Now Ted never denied that it was his father”. By the time Cruz got to his call to back candidates up and down the ticket without a mention of Trump, boos had erupted in the hall. “The day that was abrogated was the day this got personal”, Cruz told Texas delegates.
“I am not in the habit of supporting people who attacked my wife and attacked my father”, Cruz told members of the Texas delegation.
Trump devoted a significant portion of Friday’s event, billed as a thank you to convention staff and organizers, to attacking his former primary rival.
Cruz’s snub of Trump became Wednesday’s most talked-about convention moment, overshadowing Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s first major speech as Trump’s running mate and highlighting ongoing GOP divisions at a time when political parties traditionally unify behind their nominee.
Of the Orlando attack on the LGBT community, Trump appeared to comment off-script: “No good, and we’re gonna stop it”. “If I lived in NY, I would not expect to see many TV ads unless I lived near the Pennsylvania state line”.
Trump likewise said it was “dishonorable” of Cruz to abandon his pledge to support the Republican nominee.
Sen. Tom O’Mara, R-Big Flats, Chemung County, said he believes Trump will ultimately help Senate Republicans’ case.
The United States’ political and economic system is rigged by special interests: This argument is likely to draw some of the broadest agreement of anything Trump says. “We’re not babies. His people are on the PAC”.
Given the poll’s credibility interval of about four percentage points, Trump and Clinton should be considered to be about even in the race.
“I will fight for you, and I will win for you”, he vowed. “They’re just begging Trump to give them that reason, and so far he hasn’t done it”, Cox said. He blamed it on the PAC that ran the ad.
